I’m going to see the tempest again on the 16th…this time I will catch him at the end! I honestly just want to see it again cause it’s a really good play all around.
I wasn’t standing, I was sitting in the middle gallery in gentleman’s box B in seat 4 :) Great view. Only downside is the pillar can get in the way slightly.

Beautiful bastard.
DAMNIT! KATRINA HE WENT THE WRONG WAY I WALKED! I SHOULD HAVE GONE LEFT NOT RIGHT!
So my sister asked me to do a tumblr post about my experience at The Shakespeare Globe today.
First I got lost, and some man decided to talk to me for about 30 minutes about his work in physics and the civil war. Although he was nice enough to move his chair over so I had a great view…his voice was starting to piss me off.
And it starts, The Tempest. After maybe 10 minutes of monologues and dramatic pauses, COLIN MORGAN APPEARS. His face is gorgeous. His body is like a temple. He was speaking, then all of a sudden “AAHHHHHHHHH” woke me from my daydream…he was calling the dragon. Okay, not really but it was the same scream that we have all come to know and love.
Then he went running off to the side where I was sitting. The pillar was in the way for a short period of time, but luckily Colin is a swift moving actor. He started singing, it was like the heavens opened and let us sneak into its mind for 30 seconds. His muscles were defined and elegant as his did a graceful cartwheel off stage or jumping like a monkey on the bars under the stairs.
Later, he’s singing again, he jumps on the pillar and looks over to me, looks into my eyes and stared. I was in a trance, he kept looking until I glanced away because it was beginning to get a little awkward. My side of the stage was probably the best for viewing The Colin Morgan show.
I do actually appreciate the other actors, it was a great play, I love Shakespeare. But it would be a complete lie if I said I was watching the play instead of looking at the actors, because believe me, Mr. Morgan’s face is hard to miss. Those cheekbones were beautifully highlighted with his makeup, his luscious hair was gently slicked back, I wish I could run my fingers through it. All through the first Act, he kept looking into my box into my eyes, but I guess because I’m quite tall while sitting and have bright blonde hair and a horrible sunglasses sunburn, I’m hard to miss.
During intermission, I updated my sister on the events that just happened. She panicked and became extremely jealous.
After intermission, Colin was again a wonder for your eyes. Again, my face was used as a focal point, but when it came to Colin Morgan on stilts I couldn’t stop laughing. He looked like Uma Thurman in The Producers during Springtime for Hitler, mixed with lady GaGa’s shoes. Dramatic yes, but quite funny.
Later, he was at the top of the stairs and was about to start singing a sad song. And that is when it happened. He made his decent down the stairs looking down watching where he stepped, then looked up right into my eyes again and while singing sadly, gave a discreet smile and looked down again shyly. You could tell it wasn’t just the movement of his mouth but a smile with those adorable dimples and elephant ears.
After the sadness, happy dancing Colin. Literally. He put on his lady walk swaying his hips as he took the woman’s role dancing with a man. He may not be the best dancer but the makes it all better.
Then the play was finally finishing and time for “curtain call”. Since there is no real curtain, they danced again. His smile was obvious as he enjoyed the screams and cheers for the rest of the cast, so humble for his applause. As he was leaving the stage across from me, he glanced back, giving a wink. I think the wink was for the musicians to play, but I’ll take it as my own.
Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere of the play, actors running in and out of the crowd, and the way they interacted with the situations they were given, pigeons flying onto the staircase, airplanes and helicopters flying quite close.
The highlight of my day was obviously when Colin Morgan smiled at me, in fact I might just have to go back again.
OMG 3 Days till I can reach over the rail at touch him in that last picture!!!! SO EXCITED!
